Shareholder action community platform 'Act' (CEO Sang-Mok Lee) announced on the 20th that it has signed a business agreement (MOU) for mutual cooperation with independent research firm 'Gross Research' (CEO Yong-Hee Han).
This agreement was signed on the 18th at the Growth Research headquarters in Yeouido, Seoul, with representatives and related officials from both companies in attendance.
Through this agreement, the two companies plan to increase accessibility to information related to shareholder action and establish a collaborative system to support rational, data-driven decision-making. Specifically, by linking Growth Research's in-depth corporate analysis reports, focusing on small-cap stocks, within the Act platform, they plan to support minority shareholders in exercising their shareholder rights based on more specialized and reliable information.
Act expects that this agreement will not only revitalize shareholder activism but also contribute to alleviating the "Korea discount" in the domestic capital market by resolving information asymmetry.
Growth Research is a specialized agency that produces and provides independent research content focused on small and medium-sized listed companies, which are relatively neglected by traditional securities firm research centers. It engages with investors through various channels, including Naver Premium Content and YouTube. Furthermore, it has built trust with individual investors by providing empirical analyses based on numerous company visits.
Han Yong-hee, CEO of Growth Research, said, “This agreement is significant because it creates a platform and interface that connects professional research with actual shareholder behavior. By continuously providing objective and in-depth information, we will support investors in properly assessing a company’s intrinsic value and exercising their shareholder rights based on that information.”
“The persuasive power of shareholder action comes not only from collective solidarity but also from the expertise that supports the validity of the argument,” said Lee Sang-mok, CEO of Act. “Our collaboration with Growth Research will contribute to enhancing the reliability of the platform and, in the long term, will serve as an important stepping stone to achieving our common goals of improving corporate governance and enhancing shareholder value.”
