UDM Tech Co., Ltd. (CEO Wang Jinam) , a company specializing in AI-based automation system solutions, announced on the 27th that it was finally selected as an 'AI Factory Specialized Company' hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and the Korea Institute of Industrial Technology Planning and Evaluation.
This selection is part of a strategic government initiative to identify and foster key suppliers for AI-based autonomous manufacturing (AI Factory). UDM Tech has been officially recognized as a key supplier in the autonomous manufacturing sector, comprehensively recognizing its technological prowess, scalability, and R&D capabilities. Consequently, this recognition is expected to not only provide policy support for the next two years, but also enhance market trust.
UDM Tech provides automation solutions that support productivity and quality improvement through AI analysis technology based on data from manufacturing sites, and its self-developed 'OPTRA® Platform™' supports various functions such as predictive maintenance, quality inspection automation, autonomous production operation, and generative AI-based process management by integrating and analyzing equipment control signals, sensors, and image data.
In particular, control data interpretation technology based on Machine Language Processing (MLP) is evaluated to have strengthened applicability in manufacturing sites, such as early detection of equipment failures and analysis of causes of defects, by structuring PLC signals so that AI can directly analyze them.
UDM Tech has been providing solutions to major domestic manufacturing companies such as Hyundai Motor Company, Hyundai Mobis, SK Bioscience, and Seoyeon E&C, and is expanding its scope of application across smart manufacturing and industrial safety, including equipment failure prediction, mold predictive maintenance, vision inspection, process downtime analysis, and industrial safety automation (JSA automatic generation).
To date, the company holds over 20 domestic and international patents and has secured ISO 9001 certification, Inno-Biz A-grade certification, and certification as a leading industrial convergence company. Furthermore, the company boasts a competitive technological infrastructure, with AI experts accounting for more than half of its workforce.
In the future, UDM Tech plans to expand its business to the entire precision control industry, including not only the automobile, secondary battery, and electrical/electronic industries, but also bio, power generation, and food and beverage, through advancements such as AI-based autonomous facility-robot collaboration technology, industrial safety predictive AI technology (JSA+SHE), and energy optimization solutions.
Wang Jinam, CEO of UDM Tech, said, “This selection is the result of our control data-based AI technology being recognized as a core technology in the autonomous manufacturing field,” and added, “We will contribute to AI-based manufacturing innovation by expanding our solutions across various industries and strengthen our competitiveness in the global market.”
