SNPLab Inc. has officially changed its name to Personal AI Inc. and announced that it will begin full-scale business of trading and monetizing personal data through on-device AI agents and platforms.
SNP Lab is the world's first company to commercialize a blockchain-based on-device MyData platform. To address the privacy compliance issues and incomplete data distribution limitations inherent in existing server-based data distribution structures, the company developed a groundbreaking architecture that utilizes individual smartphones as servers. This laid the technological foundation for safely integrating and utilizing data across diverse industries, including finance, public sector, and healthcare, under individual control.
The new mission, "Personal AI," clearly captures the company's future vision. Beyond simply storing and managing personal data on devices, the company aims to build an ecosystem where on-device AI becomes an agent for individuals, maximizing data utilization and enabling individuals to directly benefit as active participants in the data economy.
As a first step toward this vision, Personal AI is developing a healthcare platform, "AiD," in addition to its existing MyData service, "my:D." "AiD" aims to integrate and analyze clinical, checkup, and prescription data, and link it with genomic and wearable data to provide predictive medicine services. It also includes specific revenue models, including lifestyle-based personalized exercise curation, personalized health supplement sales, and the sale of treatment and prescription history data to CROs (contract research organizations). In addition to its general user service, "AiD" will also be offered as a white-label solution for medical institutions and digital healthcare companies.
Personal AI's core strategy is to strengthen the concept of a "data exchange," where individuals become the center of data transactions. Through the "MyD Connect" platform, users can directly trade their data, either anonymously or under their real names, and share in the benefits derived from the utilization of high-value data, particularly genomic data. This entire process is handled by an on-device AI agent within the individual's device, maximizing data security and usability.
Personal AI CEO Jaeyoung Lee said, “S&P Lab has been laying the foundation for restoring data sovereignty through on-device mydata technology for the past several years,” and added, “Now, with the new name ‘Personal AI,’ we will take the lead in creating a ‘world where personal information becomes an individual’s business,’ where every individual can make their own data an asset and generate real profits through it by utilizing AI technology.”
