Wadiz Partners (CEO So Kang-seop) , an investment subsidiary of Wadiz, announced on the 29th that it has made a new investment in the premium oriental food brand ‘Seolarae’.
This investment was made through 'Next Brand,' a brand growth support program operated by Wadiz Partners, and is an example of follow-up investment in companies that have proven their marketability and brand fandom on the Wadiz platform.
Wadiz Partners invests in brands that have demonstrated early market response through the Wadiz platform, selecting companies with strong competitiveness in each category. The company then supports growth through integrated funding, market, and distribution, linking these companies to product improvements, marketing strategies, and distribution expansion.
Seolarae, founded by CEO Ji Jong-hwan, a former herbal medicine practitioner, develops health foods that combine traditional Korean medicine recipes with modern science and technology. The brand received rave reviews in the Wadiz funding project in the second half of 2024, raising over 400 million won for its "Royal Twin Flower Pill" product. Since then, the brand has continued to attract attention in the health food market, launching products like cultivated ginseng root and condensed milk incense pills. To date, the average funding amount per project has exceeded 400 million won, solidifying its position as the leading brand in Wadiz's health food category.
As of the first half of 2025, Seolarae achieved cumulative sales of KRW 1.9 billion, and annual sales this year are expected to exceed KRW 8 billion, approximately five times the previous year. The company is currently strengthening its product production and supply capabilities based on its new production plant and logistics hub currently under construction in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi Province.
Ji Jong-hwan, CEO of Seolarae, said, “This investment will provide Seolarae with an opportunity to expand not only its product competitiveness but also its manufacturing and distribution capabilities,” and added, “We will accelerate our research and development and entry into the global market to grow into a K-food-based oriental food brand.”
So Kang-seop, CEO of Wadiz Partners, said, “Seolarae is a representative brand that has proven both marketability and fandom on the Wadiz platform, and we believe that it has high growth potential in the global market as well.” He added, “Through the Next Brand Program, we will continue to support promising domestic brands so that they can leap into the global market.”
