Quantum computing technology development company Qnova (CEO Lee Jun-goo) announced on the 29th that it was selected as one of the 'Forbes Asia 100 to Watch' companies by the American business magazine Forbes.
The Forbes Asia 100 is an annual list of 100 startups and SMEs across Asia with high growth potential. This year marks the fifth year of the list. Forbes cited Qnova's technological prowess and market potential as the basis for its selection, stating, "Innovative technologies such as artificial intelligence, green tech, and quantum computing are driving change in the Asian startup ecosystem."
Qnova is developing quantum software technologies applicable to a wide range of fields, including chemistry, pharmaceuticals, and industrial processes, and is also collaborating to implement them in real-world industrial settings. In 2023, the company collaborated with POSCO and Megazone Cloud on a quantum technology-based industrial application project.
Recently, the team developed "HiVQE," a hybrid quantum algorithm optimized for complex chemical calculations, and registered it with IBM's quantum software platform, Qiskit, thereby securing its technological credibility. This algorithm, which combines quantum and classical computing, is expected to find application in diverse fields, including materials and new drug development, which require precise calculations.
The company's track record of attracting investment continues. In August, Qnova secured a Series A investment totaling 13.5 billion won from investors including the Korea Development Bank (KDB), Company K Partners, and GS Ventures. This investment will be used to advance quantum computing technology and strengthen the foundation for global expansion.
“Quantum computing is one of the core technologies for future industrial innovation, and Qnova is focusing on commercializing the technology,” said Lee Jun-goo, CEO of Qnova. “We will grow into a company that is competitive not only in the domestic market but also in the global market.”
