
Cowintech (CEO Jaehwan Lee and Hyunsoon Choi) announced on the 3rd that it has signed a strategic business agreement with Chinese intelligent robot company IPLUSMOBOT and will pursue strengthening its global robotics business competitiveness.
The two companies plan to collaborate on joint technology development of next-generation autonomous robot (AMR) platforms, collaboration on smart factory turnkey solutions, development of AI-based autonomous driving optimization algorithms, and expansion of overseas networks in Europe and North America, with the goal of jointly developing AI and robotics businesses and expanding into the global market.
iPlusMobot holds the leading market share in China's industrial logistics sector for natural environment recognition-based AMRs, boasting over 200 customers in the semiconductor, flat panel display (FPD), food, and pharmaceutical industries. Recently, the company has also been developing intelligent humanoid robots.
Cowintech plans to combine its capabilities in building AMRs and smart factories turnkey based on high-precision docking technology with iPlusMobot's 3D laser SLAM, vision, and IMU fusion navigation technology and its experience in delivering large-scale industrial robots.
The two companies plan to develop an AMR utilizing advanced AI software to dominate the smart factory autonomous driving robot market across the manufacturing industry. In particular, they aim to expand its application in the secondary battery, semiconductor, and automotive industries.
Cowintech CEO Hyun-soon Choi stated that this agreement is the starting point for advancing next-generation AMR technology and accelerating the conquest of the global robotics market, and that the company plans to expand its business areas to collaborative robots, micro drones, and humanoid robots in the future, fostering the robotics business as a new growth engine.
