Gmission (CEO Han Jun-seop), an AI solutions company, announced on the 3rd that it had been selected for the "New Business Entry-Type IP-R&D Strategic Support Project" hosted by the Korea Intellectual Property Strategy Development Institute (KISTA), an affiliate of the Ministry of Science and ICT. Gmission is currently working on a project to develop AI-based intelligent document processing technology, with a target completion date of mid-September.
This project aims to strengthen global technological competitiveness in the next-generation intelligent document processing (IDP) field, focusing on AI-based OCR and LLM fusion intelligent fax document processing technology, which are core research and development topics of Jimision.
To overcome the limitations of web- and cloud-based fax systems, GMission plans to develop multimodal document processing technology that extends beyond OCR and LLM integration to include VLM (Visual Language Model). This will enhance the accuracy of reading unstructured documents and advance technologies such as de-identification of sensitive information.
Furthermore, through analysis of global patent big data, Jimmy Mission is also achieving results that link intellectual property strategies and technology development, such as establishing core patent response strategies, R&D roadmaps, building patent portfolios, and technology commercialization strategies for leading global companies.
Han Jun-seop, CEO of GMIS, said he expects this selection to contribute to establishing a strategic foundation for technological development and strengthening global competitiveness, and that the company plans to continue focusing on the IDP market through technological advancement and intellectual property creation.
Meanwhile, based on the results of this project, Jimmy Mission plans to file international patent applications (PCT) and individual applications in major countries, and utilize its secured IP portfolio to enter the global market and expand new businesses.
