Metanet Digital, a digital transformation specialist, announced that it participated in the '1st Industrial AI Expo' held at the COEX Magok Convention Center in Seoul from September 3rd to 5th and introduced 'MetaFactory', an autonomous operation platform based on digital twins.
Participation in this exhibition was part of a strategy to strengthen cooperation with the Korea Industrial Complex Corporation (KICOX), advancing smart factories and fostering an industrial AI ecosystem. Beyond a technology demonstration, Metanet Digital presented the development direction of its smart factory platform for the transition to autonomous operation to government agencies, public institutions, and manufacturing companies.
MetaFactory is an integrated platform that combines digital twin technology and manufacturing AI to visualize manufacturing sites in real time and support autonomous operations. It consists of three components: 'MetaFactory,' which provides real-time facility and process visualization; 'MetaFactory.Pluto,' which combines an operator interface with agentic AI; and 'MetaFactory.Plus,' which incorporates industry-specific features.
At the exhibition site, various functions were demonstrated, including facility operation and process visualization in the work site, interactive AI-based operation support, fire surveillance, logistics simulation, and robot monitoring, and each function was implemented in a form that can be utilized in an actual industrial environment.
Metanet Digital cited MetaFactory's differentiating factors as ▲large-scale construction experience in the global market (applied to approximately 20 overseas corporations and 80 factories), ▲real-time event data processing technology, ▲communication linkage capabilities with existing facilities such as PLCs and Edge equipment, and ▲AI and large-scale language model (LLM)-based interface technology.
Metanet Digital is currently applying digital twin and AI-based solutions leveraging MetaFactory across a wide range of industries, including displays, biopharmaceuticals, and tobacco manufacturing. Specifically, it is implementing projects such as agentic AI-based knowledge systems, equipment failure prediction systems, and virtual factory simulations, supporting the establishment of autonomous process management and operation systems.
A Metanet Digital official said, “Metafactory is evolving into an autonomous factory platform capable of visualizing and integrating the entire manufacturing process in real time,” adding, “Based on our global construction experience and AI-based technology, we will support the structural transformation and enhanced competitiveness of the manufacturing industry.”
