AWS Cloud School trainee wins grand prize at K-Digital Training Hackathon

The 9th batch of trainees from the K-Digital Training 'AWS Cloud School', jointly operated by the Korea Radio Promotion Association under the Ministry of Science and ICT and Amazon Web Services Korea, won the grand prize (Prime Minister's Award) at the 7th K-Digital Training Hackathon in 2025.

The winning team, Fablink Team (Jae-gi Lee, Yong-beom Kim, Jong-hyeon Seong, Geon-ho Lee, and Hyeon-ji Lee), won the top prize, which is awarded to only one team among the 60 teams that advanced nationwide.

The K-Digital Training Hackathon is a nationwide digital competency competition hosted by the Ministry of Employment and Labor and the Korea University of Technology and Education's Vocational Ability Test and Evaluation Institute. It is an event where K-Digital trainees form teams and present creative digital-based ideas and prototypes.

The Fablink team proposed an industrial balanced development platform, linking designers and the local garment industry, under the theme of "AI Digital MD." The platform received high praise from the judges for connecting garment clusters in Seoul and the provinces and offering a solution to the problem of regional extinction caused by aging and population outflow.

The Fablink team personally oversaw the entire process, from planning and development to deployment, in a cloud environment, earning recognition for their technical prowess and feasibility. The team members shared, "The systematic training provided by AWS Cloud School and the practical coaching provided by experienced mentors were a significant help in bringing our ideas to fruition."

The Korea Radio Promotion Association stated, “We are honored to have produced a Hackathon Grand Prize winner for two consecutive years,” and added, “We will continue to enhance the quality of our educational programs to cultivate digital talent that can be immediately applied in industrial settings.”
