Biallab, which operates the AI-based sleep tech brand "Benjamin AI," announced on September 1st that it signed a strategic agreement with LG Electronics for advanced sleep-related research. This agreement is part of a joint research project that aims to combine the two companies' technologies to provide a personalized sleep environment.
The agreement will strengthen the connection between BR Lab's sleep measurement and improvement technology and LG Electronics' smart home devices. When BR Lab's "Benjamin AI" mattress and LG Electronics' "ThinQ" app are linked, users will be able to check real-time data on their sleep status, sleeping position, sleep stages, and any sleep abnormalities through the app. This data will be used to automate the operation of smart home devices, such as lighting, temperature, and humidity, based on sleep stages.
Viallab utilizes non-contact AI-based algorithms to provide features that improve sleep quality, including inducing deep sleep, shortening the time it takes to fall asleep, and alleviating sleep inertia. This collaboration will integrate these features with LG ThinQ services, enabling more precise control of the sleep environment.
“The combination of AI sleep data and smart home automation technology is an attempt to present a new standard for sleep management,” said Lee Jong-min, CEO of Bialab. “We plan to continuously improve automation scenarios so that users can immerse themselves in sleep without any separate operations.”
