Climate tech company Ohdusilabs announced on the 11th that it had won a contract to develop a self-employed version of Gyeonggi Province's "Gyeonggi Climate Management Service." This service, scheduled to officially launch in September, is expected to lower the barriers to carbon management for the approximately 2.11 million small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Gyeonggi Province.
The Gyeonggi Climate Management Service is a platform that helps businesses in Gyeonggi Province easily calculate the carbon emissions generated during their business activities, even without specialized knowledge. Previously, the service was only available to corporate entities, but with the addition of a version for individual businesses, a support system has been established that encompasses even small businesses previously overlooked in climate management.
Since last year, Ohudusi Lab has been working with Gyeonggi Province to successfully establish a carbon management service for corporate businesses on the Gyeonggi Climate Platform, and has expanded the scope of its services through the development of a version for individual businesses.
The individual business version is designed to meet the unique needs of individual business owners, with everything from simple authentication and automatic data entry to category-specific emissions calculations and automated report generation. It enables the same level of carbon emissions calculations as corporate businesses, and with support from Gyeonggi Province, individual business owners can use the service free of charge.
This is expected to be of practical help to individual business owners, who lack dedicated carbon management personnel or expertise compared to corporations. The existing service focused on approximately 50,000 high-emission businesses, but with increasing inquiries from individual business owners, expansion was required. With the launch of this version, all businesses in Gyeonggi Province will receive equal support.
The platform is available as a web-based SaaS (Software as a Service) without separate installation, and is designed to be easy to use even by non-experts by utilizing big data and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies.
An official from Ohdusi Lab said, “Carbon management is not just a task for large corporations, but a task that all businesses must undertake together,” and added, “We will contribute to achieving Gyeonggi Province’s carbon neutrality goal by expanding our services to include individual business owners.”
