The 'Gyeonggi Housework Support Service', which Gyeonggi Province introduced for the first time this year, is a project that aims to reduce the burden of housework for pregnant women, dual-income households, and families with multiple children with an income of 150% or less of the median income based on city/county residence, support work-family balance, and create an environment friendly to childbirth and child-rearing.

With this participation, the Living Research Institute will provide free home cleaning services through home visits by managers to a total of 306 households in four regions: Suwon, Uijeongbu, Dongducheon, and Yeoncheon. Eligibility for support includes: ▲Families with expectant mothers within the past year of giving birth; ▲Dual-income families where both spouses work at least 20 hours per week; and ▲Families with two or more children under the age of 18.

The service, which lasts four hours per session and includes cleaning and trash removal of the entire living space, including the living room, bedroom, kitchen, bathroom, and entrance, will cost 75,000 won. Suwon and Uijeongbu cities offer up to 10 sessions per household, while Dongducheon and Yeoncheon counties offer up to 15 sessions.

The Cleaning Research Institute currently operates a home cleaning service nationwide, with 180,000 managers active in the Seoul metropolitan area and six major metropolitan cities. It boasts a monthly average growth rate of over 20% in new customers, boasting high customer satisfaction, with 88% of customers choosing to re-use the service. Furthermore, 65% of customers subscribe to the service on a regular basis.

Yeon Hyeon-ju, CEO of the Living Research Institute, said, “I understand the difficulties faced by working parents while raising children, and I wanted to provide practical help,” and added, “Based on the cleaning expertise I have accumulated over many years, I will help reduce the burden of household chores and contribute to creating a better environment for childbirth and childrearing.”
