Orbitech announced on the 11th that it has signed a contract with Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Co., Ltd. for radiation management services for Wolseong Nuclear Power Plant Units 1 and 2. The contract will run for three years, from October 2025 to September 2028, and has a total contract value of approximately 25.3 billion won. This represents approximately 38.0% of Orbitech's recent sales.
Under this contract, Orbitech will prevent the external leakage of radioactive materials generated during the operation of Wolsong Nuclear Power Plant Units 1 and 2 and perform related radiation management tasks. Its primary scope of work includes radiation protection management, radioactive waste management and disposal, radiation dose management for radiation workers, and quality control. Through this, Orbitech will provide technical support to ensure the safety of workers and facilities within the nuclear power plant.
The company explained that this contract will secure mid- to long-term revenue stability in the nuclear power sector. Furthermore, in anticipation of the full-fledged opening of the nuclear power plant decommissioning market, the company plans to strengthen its radioactive waste processing capabilities and expand its participation in related projects.
An Orbitech official stated, “This contract is a meaningful achievement that has secured a stable revenue base in the nuclear power generation sector, which is the company’s core business division,” and added, “We will continue to pursue strategic investments and business expansion targeting the nuclear power plant decommissioning market in the future.”
