Ulike Korea's AI-based livestock behavior analysis system technology has been granted a US patent.

UlikeKorea Co., Ltd., a digital livestock company, announced on the 12th that it recently acquired a patent from the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) for a "Livestock Behavior Analysis System Using an Accelerometer Sensor and a Behavior Analysis Method Using the Same." This patent is significant in that it secures exclusive rights in the US market for technology that analyzes livestock behavior to diagnose and manage their health in real time.

The newly registered technology analyzes biometric data collected via sensors within the rumen using artificial intelligence (AI). This allows for early detection of livestock health, particularly stomach health, and supports disease prevention. Yulike Korea anticipates that this technology can also be used for meat quality grading, contributing to increased productivity and efficient health management in livestock farms.

Kim Hee-jin, CEO of Ulike Korea, said, “Obtaining a patent in the United States, the world’s largest livestock market, will serve as the foundation for expanding our local business,” and added, “Through this achievement, we plan to accelerate our entry into the U.S. market.”

UlikeKorea is the first company in Korea to commercialize "LiveCare," an orally administered IoT biocapsule. LiveCare is a livestock healthcare platform that collects accurate biometric data through a biocapsule implanted in the rumen of a cow, independent of external environmental influences. This data is then analyzed using AI and provided through a dedicated application, providing real-time health status updates. Compared to existing external sensors, LiveCare boasts greater accuracy and sustainability, making it a promising next-generation management technology in livestock farming.

Currently, Ulike Korea is exporting its technology to approximately eight countries, and recently, it plans to further expand its influence in the global livestock healthcare market by collaborating with Metech Holdings, which developed the 'Methane Capsule', a device that can detect and reduce methane gas generated inside the rumen.

CEO Kim said, “UlikeKorea is leading the innovation of healthcare technology by applying data and AI technology to the livestock industry,” and added, “We will grow into a convergence platform company that leads the paradigm shift in the global livestock industry.”
