SelectStar Begins Establishing EU Privacy Benchmark Dataset

SelectStar (CEO Kim Se-yeop) , an AI data specialist company, has begun building a benchmark dataset that addresses the European Union's (EU) privacy regulations. This project is part of the "2025 Ultra-Large-Scale AI Diffusion Ecosystem Creation Project," promoted by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the National Intelligence Service (NIA).

SelectStar is building Korea's first open-source dataset based on the EU's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Artificial Intelligence Act (AI Act). The goal is to establish a standard dataset for assessing compliance with privacy regulations for Large Language Models (LLMs). This project is significant in that it establishes a foundation for responding to EU regulations, which are emerging as global standards for privacy protection.

The project will collect and refine large-scale data based on key EU laws and public reports, categorize key privacy-related items, and establish evaluation criteria. Furthermore, question-and-answer (QA) data and multilingual evaluation materials applicable to real-world service environments will be produced. This will establish an evaluation system capable of quantitatively verifying the extent to which AI understands and complies with regulations.

SelectStar is the lead agency for this project, overseeing project planning, data construction, and quality assurance. Flitto and BHSN have joined the consortium. Flitto will be responsible for multilingual data cleansing, translation quality control, and terminology dictionary development, while BHSN will provide legal interpretation and regulatory compliance advice to ensure the legal suitability of the dataset.

This project will create Korea's first benchmark dataset for LLM assessments, capable of assessing compliance with EU regulations. This dataset will be open-sourced and freely available to domestic and international research institutions and industries, and is expected to contribute to strengthening capabilities to address global personal information regulations.

Kim Se-yeop, CEO of SelectStar, said, “This project will serve as a foundation for domestic companies to enter the global market,” and added, “By utilizing SelectStar’s AI reliability verification technology, we will establish a system that can objectively evaluate how faithfully LLMs comply with EU regulations.”
