Global art company AXOO Corp. announced that it will host an exhibition by Spanish installation art group Penique Productions at Cosiety, a multi-purpose cultural space in Seongsu-dong, Seoul, from September 26th to 28th. This exhibition marks the first time Penique Productions' work has been officially introduced in Korea.
Penique Productions, a Barcelona-based installation artist group, has gained international recognition for their large-scale spatial installations utilizing inflatable structures. Their work involves stripping existing spaces of their functionality and atmosphere, then reconstructing them with color, light, and texture, imbuing them with a new identity.
AXOO will lead the entire process of planning, curation, production, installation, and staging for this Seoul exhibition. The artists will be on-site for approximately 72 hours after arriving in Korea to carry out the installation work. The completed installation will be unveiled at an opening event on September 26th at 7 PM, and will be open to the public for three days thereafter.
The exhibition venue, Cosociety, is a complex cultural space located in Seongsu-dong, and is used as a venue for various art and community events.
Since forming in Barcelona in 2007, Penique Productions has garnered attention for their unique approach to spatial interpretation, exhibiting in cities across the globe, including Mexico, France, and Brazil. By covering entire spaces with single-colored air structures, they have transformed familiar spaces into unfamiliar experiences for audiences.
AXOO is a global art and creative group that plans and produces various art projects based on a network of approximately 10,000 artists worldwide. Its main business areas include spatial expansion through art and brand collaboration.
This exhibition is an experiment to see if visual art can bring a new dimension of experience to space, and it is also explained to be in line with AXOO's future exhibition direction.
