The Korea Institute for Gender Equality Promotion and Education (Director Kim Sam-hwa) under the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family announced on the 25th that it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Gyeonggi Job Foundation (CEO Yoon Deok-ryong) to promote gender equality culture and raise awareness of violence prevention.
Through this agreement, the two organizations agreed to pursue practical cooperation in the following areas: ▲creating a gender-equal organizational culture; ▲expanding women's economic participation and enhancing their representation; ▲cooperating on gender equality and violence prevention education; ▲publicity activities to spread awareness of gender equality; and ▲other areas of mutual cooperation.
Through this agreement, both organizations plan to strengthen the foundation for promoting women's economic participation and raising awareness of gender equality within their organizations. Furthermore, they anticipate continued joint efforts to incorporate gender equality perspectives into future employment policies and employment environment development.
Kim Sam-hwa, the president of the Korea Institute for Gender Equality Promotion and Education, said, “This agreement establishes a practical foundation for cooperation to create a gender-equal work environment,” and added, “We will continue to contribute to the spread of gender equality policies through collaboration with various regions and organizations.”
Yoon Deok-ryong, CEO of the Gyeonggi Job Foundation, also said, “This agreement is a starting point for creating a gender-equal workplace, and we will continue practical cooperation to create an employment environment where everyone is respected.”
Meanwhile, the Korea Institute for Gender Equality Promotion and Education, established pursuant to Article 46 of the Framework Act on Gender Equality, promotes educational and policy cooperation projects to promote a culture of gender equality. The Gyeonggi Job Foundation, a central agency for employment services in the province, implements various policies to foster talent and expand employment.
