Newen AI (Newen AI, CEO Bae Seong-hwan), a company specializing in big data analysis based on generative AI, announced that it participated in supporting the production of the 'Local Survival AI Project' program, which was jointly produced by eight regional MBC stations.
MBC's regional program, "Local Survival AI Project: Our Hometown, Please!", is an experimental project that explores how humans and artificial intelligence (AI) can work together to find solutions to the crisis of regional extinction. The project began with the question: Can AI truly diagnose and find solutions to overcome the challenges of low birth rates, aging populations, population decline in regional cities, and job losses?
Newen AI utilized Quettai, an AI big data analysis platform, to provide keywords and insights from portals and social media related to the theme of each episode. Beyond simply listing related keywords, the keywords were categorized into four categories—Hot, Top, In, and Out—to visually present various trends and reactions in graphic format, enhancing immersion. Eastsoft's interactive AI human, Yuri, also provided production support, and the real-time dialogue scenes with the AI, Yuri, displayed incredible synchronization, further enhancing the program's quality.
The "Regional Survival AI Project" is a meaningful project co-produced by eight regional MBCs: Jeju, Chungcheongbuk-do, Wonju, Daejeon, Gyeongnam, Gangwon Yeongdong, Gwangju, and Mokpo. The six-part TV series and 12-part radio series will be uploaded first to radio and YouTube. While regional broadcasters will have different broadcasting schedules, Jeju MBC and Wonju MBC are scheduled to air first on October 4th, during the Chuseok holiday.
NewenAI boasts advanced AI analysis capabilities and the largest data collection in Korea. Based on over 900 AI analysis models tailored to specific industries and tasks, the company is expanding its vertically specialized AI analysis SaaS lineup. Its public institutions include the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Ministry of Health and Welfare, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, the National Health Insurance Service, the Korea Public Corporations, and the Korea Expressway Corporation. Based on this project, the company plans to explore a vertically specialized model for local governments, diagnosing and addressing the issue of regional extinction.
Jeju MBC's Ji Geon-bo, the co-producer, said, "In the era of regional extinction crisis and AI, we are finding solutions to what regions and local residents should prepare for and what the country and local governments should do. Through Quettai's AI-based online data analysis, we were able to determine what concerns and preparations we should make going forward, which was a great help in producing the program."
Newen AI CEO Bae Seong-hwan stated, “AI has reached a critical turning point amidst the crisis of regional extinction. We will also focus our efforts on developing and applying AI technology for regional coexistence.”
