The '2025 Hangul Utilization Design Contest' is an event hosted and organized by Gyeongsangbuk-do Province and the National Institute for the Advancement of Korean Studies, and was held with the aim of discovering design ideas utilizing Hunminjeongeum, old Hangul, and Hangul culture.
In this contest, Mining Lab entered the "Greenfelt Hangul Wappen and Carrier Name Tag DIY Kit," for which it has a patent application (Application No. 10-2025-0138831). Designed to introduce Hangul to foreigners in a familiar and meaningful way, this product captures the aesthetic beauty and meaning of Hangul, garnering interest from public institutions and intellectual property (IP) companies.
The winning entries will be unveiled at the "Hangeul Utilization Design Contest Winners Exhibition," held at the Yeungnam University Cheonma Art Center Chamber Hall on October 1st to commemorate Hangeul Day. At the exhibition, visitors can experience Mining Lab's DIY kit and Greenfelt Hangeul Wappen firsthand.
Yoon Tae-i, CEO of Food and Beverage, said, “The Greenfelt Hangul Wappen and Carrier Name Tag DIY Kit were developed to introduce the beauty of Hangul to tourists visiting Korea and to support sustainable travel,” and added, “We will continue to create social value among foreigners and in overseas markets through practical products that incorporate ESG values.”
