
Daejeon City received the Presidential Citation at the '20th Pregnant Women's Day Commemoration Ceremony' hosted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare held at the Fairmont Ambassador in Seoul on the 10th.
As the only local government in the country to receive this award, Daejeon City's pregnancy and childbirth-friendly policies were recognized as a national model.
Approximately 200 people, including officials from the Ministry of Health and Welfare, related organizations, pregnant women, and their families, attended the event to celebrate. At the event, various policy examples from Daejeon City were presented.
Daejeon City Vice Mayor for Political Affairs, Economic Affairs and Science Choi Seong-ah said, “This award is a result of our administration and the work we have done together with our citizens,” and added, “We will continue to create a city where marriage, childbirth, and childrearing lead to happiness.”
