Kibo Signs Business Agreement with Incheon Technopark and Incheon Intellectual Property Center

The Korea Technology Finance Corporation (Korea Technology Finance Corporation, Chairman Kim Jong-ho, hereinafter referred to as “KIBO”) announced that it signed a business agreement for “Technology Transaction Supporters” with Incheon Technopark (Director Lee Ju-ho, hereinafter referred to as “Incheon TP”) and Incheon Intellectual Property Center (Director Kwon Ho-chang, hereinafter referred to as “Incheon RIPC”) at the Incheon TP headquarters on Monday the 13th.

This agreement was promoted to establish a cooperative foundation to promote the discovery of technology transfer needs among small and medium-sized enterprises in the Incheon area and to lead to tangible results by linking each organization's technology transfer and commercialization support systems with regional networks.

Under the agreement, Incheon TP and Incheon RIPC will utilize their regional networks as “technology transfer supporters” to identify technology transfer needs, and KIBO will provide tailored financial support, including ▲technology transfer brokerage and ▲intellectual property (IP) acquisition guarantees, to the identified companies, as well as support for follow-up commercialization.

Through this agreement, the two organizations will establish an organic cooperative system and strengthen collaboration to promote technology commercialization for Incheon-area SMEs. In particular, the aviation, robotics, and bio industries, which Incheon City is fostering as strategic industries, are technology-intensive and are expected to reduce R&D costs through technology transfer and generate successful technology commercialization outcomes.

Kibo CEO Lee Sang-chang said, “This agreement will serve as an opportunity to strengthen the technological competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises in the Incheon region and to spread open innovation,” and added, “Kibo will continue to expand collaboration with related organizations to actively contribute to supporting the entire technology commercialization cycle of small and medium-sized enterprises and revitalizing the local economy.”

Meanwhile, as part of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups' "Small and Medium Enterprise Technology Transaction Activation Support Project," KIBO operates a technology transaction supporter system. Through efforts such as identifying technology transfer demand and promoting the system, KIBO strives to expand the technology transaction market base and enhance the technological innovation capabilities of small and medium enterprises.
