The Jeju Center for Creative Economy and Innovation (Director Lee Byeong-seon, hereinafter referred to as the Jeju Center) announced that it held the 'Local Festa – Connecting Local in Jeju' event as part of the '2025 Local Creator Development Project' in Sehwa-ri, Gujwa-eup, Jeju-si on October 1st.

This event was organized to share the achievements of the local creator development project, overseen by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, managed by the Small and Medium Business Corporation, and organized by the Jeju Center, and to strengthen the foundation for cooperation.

The event was attended by 31 local creator teams from the Jeju region, as well as representatives from the Small and Medium Business Corporation, investors, prospective entrepreneurs, and general participants.

The event consisted of three parts. Part 1 featured a plaque presentation ceremony and commemorative photo session for local creators, followed by an investment briefing and matching consultation session with investors like LIPS. This event explored opportunities for local startup teams to secure funding and expand their businesses.

Parts 2 and 3 took place in the Sehwa-ri commercial district in Gujwa-eup, Jeju City. Participants shared the entrepreneurial experiences of local small business owners through the "Listening to Sehwa-ri Stories Together" session. Following this, they explored the commercial district through the "Insight Trip (Sehwa-ri World Tour)" program, experiencing the realities of local entrepreneurship.

One of the main programs, "Local Chat in Sehwari," featured panelists from Hyundai Department Store, Naver Happy Bean, Muji, Mondragon University in Spain, and the Jeju Center. They discussed topics such as distribution entry strategies for local brands, platform entry strategies, and brand expansion potential, sharing practical examples that captivated the participating startup teams.

A Jeju Center official said, “This event was an opportunity for local creators working with local resources to share their achievements and expand collaboration with external partners,” adding, “We will continue to support the local startup ecosystem so that it can make a tangible contribution to the local economy.”
