Magenta Robotics (CEO Kwon Ki-hyun), a paint shop automation system integration (SI) specialist, held a "FAST Solution Briefing" at the Daejeon Convention Center (DCC) on October 13th. The event was designed to introduce new products that combine collaborative robots and AI-based automation technology and to offer safety and productivity enhancements to small and medium-sized manufacturers.
At the briefing session, the 'FAST (Factory Automation with Smart Teaching)' solution, which combines Rainbow Robotics' collaborative robot arm (RB series) and Magenta Robotics' motion planning technology, and the 'autonomous painting collaborative robot' were introduced as the main presentation topics.
The FAST solution, based on the ability to learn and automate worker movements, aims to reduce the risk of safety accidents in processes involving high-altitude work or exposure to hazardous substances, while also reducing labor costs and improving production efficiency. It is particularly recognized as a technology that addresses the needs of small and medium-sized manufacturers, who are demanding enhanced safety management following the implementation of the Serious Accident Punishment Act.
Unlike conventional robot operation methods, autonomous painting collaborative robots intuitively learn the operator's movements and perform painting tasks without complex programming. This increases accessibility and expands the potential for on-site deployment.
Magenta Robotics announced that its solution has been verified by the global testing and certification organization TÜV SÜD and has received safety certification in compliance with ISO/IEC international standards. Furthermore, the company plans to contribute to improving the working environment and enhancing efficiency in related industries by expanding the application of automation in painting and blasting processes.
“This briefing session is an opportunity to share the potential field applications of our automation solutions, which combine our AI-based technology with collaborative robots,” said Kwon Ki-hyun, CEO of Magenta Robotics. “By automating processes centered around powder coating, we aim to contribute to resolving the manpower shortage and safety issues faced by small and medium-sized manufacturing companies.”
