Music investment platform Music Cow announced on the 20th that it was finally selected for the '2025 Hi Seoul Enterprise' certification hosted by the Seoul Metropolitan Government and the Seoul Economic Promotion Agency.
"Hi Seoul Enterprise" is a certification program that identifies and supports outstanding Seoul-based SMEs with growth potential and global competitiveness. Each year, companies are selected based on a comprehensive evaluation of growth potential, expertise, and management stability. This year, a total of 461 companies applied, and 100 were ultimately selected. Music Cow achieved certification for the first time.
Music Cow operates a "music revenue securities" platform that lowers the barrier to entry into the music copyright market, a market previously difficult for general investors. This platform is recognized as contributing to the revitalization of the creative ecosystem by providing artists with opportunities to fund their creations and investors with new revenue models.
According to a report published by the Korea Intellectual Property Institute, if domestic music copyrights were issued in the form of music revenue securities, the market size would be estimated at between 15 trillion won and 22.6 trillion won. Analysis also suggests that if this capital were to flow into the music industry, it would lead to the creation of approximately 630,000 new songs and the creation of 100,000 new jobs.
Music Cow has recently applied for preliminary approval to become an investment brokerage firm for the institutionalization of music revenue securities, and is also pursuing overseas expansion of the "cultural finance" industry by entering the U.S. market.
A company official stated, “As we prepare to enter the institutional financial system and expand globally, this Hi Seoul Enterprise certification is very meaningful as it recognizes our business performance and growth potential,” adding, “We will continue to strive to create a stable investment environment and expand K-cultural finance.”
