The Korea Human Resources Development Institute and Samsung Medical Center held the 2nd Medical AI Symposium.

The Korea Health Personnel Management Institute (Acting President Bae Nam-young) announced that Samsung Seoul Hospital (President Park Seung-woo), the educational operator of the medical AI healthcare professional job training program, held the '2nd Medical AI Symposium' in the main auditorium of the main building on the 20th.

Since September, the Human Resources Development Institute has been working with Samsung Medical Center, Seoul National University Hospital, Seoul Asan Medical Center, and Chung-Ang University Gwangmyeong Hospital to develop specialized talent in medical AI through a job training program for healthcare professionals. Samsung Medical Center, leveraging its AI research capabilities and data infrastructure, is developing and operating a practical curriculum focused on field work. It is also focusing on strengthening AI utilization capabilities across all hospital staff.

Centered around the AI Research Center at the Data Science Institute of Samsung Medical Center, the center has established an AI education ecosystem and established a learning and performance management system. This system offers a five-stage curriculum for each job category, encompassing basic AI theory, clinical practice, and project execution. This strengthens hands-on training in areas such as medical data analysis, generative AI, and medical image recognition, serving as a hub for fostering medical AI talent.

This symposium was held to share the impact of medical AI technology on the medical field and its future development direction. The event featured a lecture by Professor Kim Yang-woo (Injaewon) titled "Directions and Prospects for Medical AI Healthcare Professional Job Training Projects," as well as various sessions on AI-based healthcare services, clinical application cases, medical AI research achievements, and ethical issues.

Bae Nam-young, acting director of the Korea Human Resources Development Institute for Health and Welfare, said, “Samsung Seoul Hospital is leading the way in practical education that reflects the needs of the medical field and is presenting a practical model for medical AI education,” and added, “We will use this symposium as an opportunity to expand the medical AI talent training system that fosters the growth of hospitals, industry, and policies together.”
