Travel Wallet Signs Business Agreement with Crypto.com

Foreign currency payment fintech company Travel Wallet (CEO Hyungwoo Kim) announced on the 21st that it has signed a business agreement with global cryptocurrency platform Crypto.com.

Through this agreement, the two companies will pursue strategic collaboration in three key areas: launching a jointly branded card, integrating virtual asset trading services, and developing a Korean Won (KRW)-based stablecoin.

TravelWallet has been appointed as Crypto.com's preferred issuance partner in Korea, and the two companies will launch a co-branded prepaid card. This will provide users with a hybrid payment experience that allows them to use both fiat and cryptocurrency.

Travel Wallet also plans to add functionality that allows users to trade virtual assets directly within the app, without having to sign up for a separate exchange. This expansion will expand the app into an integrated digital wallet service that enables not only foreign currency recharges, payments, and remittances, but also virtual asset trading, holding, and payments. The strategy is to build a global fintech ecosystem that links foreign exchange and digital assets.

Additionally, Travel Wallet's KRW stablecoin, currently under development, will be integrated with the Crypto.com ecosystem, enabling cross-currency circulation and settlement across both platforms. This will reduce the costs and time of international payments and remittances, and lay the foundation for the KRW stablecoin's utility in the global digital economy.

Kim Hyung-woo, CEO of Travel Wallet, said, “This collaboration marks the beginning of a new payment paradigm that combines fintech finance and blockchain finance,” and added, “We will strengthen the global competitiveness of Korean fintech by building an integrated payment ecosystem encompassing foreign currencies, virtual assets, and stablecoins.”

Eric Anjiani, CEO and COO of Crypto.com, said, “Korea is a fast-growing fintech market, and Travel Wallet is a trusted partner among global travelers. Through this collaboration, we will strive to enable users to use digital assets easily and safely anywhere in their daily lives and while traveling.”
