Namdo Market , a wholesale and retail platform company, announced on the 21st that it has acquired D&I Pavis (Brunel), a company specializing in artificial intelligence (AI) search technology. Through this acquisition, Namdo Market will secure core AI technology, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) model capabilities, and specialized personnel, and will pursue its transformation into an AI-centric wholesale and retail data company.
Founded in 2018, D&IPabis is a startup that possesses natural language-based semantic search technology capable of extracting meaningful information even from documents containing complex technical terms in areas such as law, science, technology, and medicine. The company's core technology, "Brunel," is a RAG-based search engine that analyzes the meaning and context of sentences to infer information. This allows for precise search capabilities based on contextual understanding, rather than simple keyword matching.
With the acquisition of D&I Pavis, Namdo Market plans to apply AI and ontology technologies to the overall data processing process of its wholesale and retail platform. This will allow it to structure and analyze diverse transaction data, including product registration, orders, settlements, messages, and chats, into semantic units. Ontology technology defines semantic relationships between data, enabling AI to understand context and systematically connect knowledge.
Namdo Market expects this technology to precisely analyze data generated during wholesale and retail transactions, and serve as the foundation for automating the platform's core functions, such as registration, search, recommendation, and matching, and implementing personalized services.
Namdo Market CEO Yang Seung-woo stated, “This acquisition marks a strategic turning point for us as an AI-centric retail data company,” and added, “Through our ontology-based RAG system, we will resolve information asymmetry in the wholesale and retail markets and increase transaction efficiency and accuracy.”
D&IPabis CEO Park Se-hyeon said, “We will focus on implementing AI technology to translate into actual business results by combining Brunel technology, which has been developed into a scientific and professional RAG model, with Namdo Market’s wholesale and retail data.”
