B.MyFriends (Co-CEOs Seo Woo-seok and Lee Ki-young), which operates the global fandom business solution 'b.stage', announced on the 22nd that it had attracted an investment of approximately 21 billion won from Goodwater Capital, a venture capital firm based in Silicon Valley, USA.
This investment follows a strategic investment from BRICKS FUND TOKYO, a Japanese subsidiary of Mitsubishi, in September, marking the second consecutive global investment in just over a month. Bimai Friends has once again demonstrated its global expansion potential and business sustainability through this series of investments, primarily in Asia and North America.
Goodwater Capital, which participated in the investment, is a leading Silicon Valley consumer technology VC firm that has invested in domestic unicorn companies such as Coupang, Kakao, Toss, and Carrot. This is its first investment in a Korean entertainment technology company.
Goodwater Capital explained, “Bistage is differentiated from existing B2C-focused fandom platforms in that it allows IP owners to build an independent fandom platform with complete control,” and “Bistage’s business model, which features a B2B strategy and flexible technology structure, has great potential in the global market.”
B-Stage is conducting business based on the 'Fandom Business 360' solution that provides integrated core functions related to fandom, such as ▲advertising/marketing ▲e-commerce ▲fan club operation ▲fan communication ▲concert and event operation ▲IP-based business.
To date, over 300 global fandom platforms have been launched through BSTAGE, enabling over 900 creators and artists to connect with fans in over 230 countries. Recent collaborations with global IPs across diverse genres have also expanded, including the operation of the official fan community for "K-Pop Demon Hunters" and the Seoul pop-up store for the Japanese group "Snowman."
Seo Woo-seok, CEO of Bimae Friends, said, “Through successive strategic investments, we have further strengthened our position in the global market,” and “We plan to focus on business advancement so that B-Stage can establish itself as a global infrastructure for IP-based fandom business.”
