MakinaRocks (CEO Sungho Yoon), an industry-specific AI (Vertical AI) company, has been selected for the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy's "Industrial AI Solution Verification and Dissemination Support Project" and will be carrying out the "Industrial AI Semiconductor Solution Foundation Construction and Verification" project. The total project cost is approximately 1.3 billion won, and the project period is from October 2025 to June 2026.
The domestic semiconductor equipment and components industry faces challenges such as standardizing complex equipment data, a shortage of AI experts, and securing customized solutions. In particular, vector database-based infrastructure and data standardization are areas difficult for individual companies to build independently, necessitating industry-wide cooperation.
MakinaRocks has formed a consortium with New Power Plasma, Surplus Global, YC, Juseong Engineering, KC Tech, and the Korea Semiconductor Industry Association (KSIA) as suppliers for this project. Based on its proprietary AI platform, "MakinaRocks Runway," the company plans to develop and supply customized AI agent solutions applicable to semiconductor manufacturing sites.
The primary task is the development of a "Quality History Management AI Agent" that integrates and analyzes quality data generated before and after semiconductor equipment shipment, including FAT/SAT reports, failure histories, and operation logs, based on LLMOps. This system integrates with edge environments to support real-time quality analysis, automatic updates, and distribution, thereby establishing a sustainable, autonomous AI operation system for manufacturing sites.
“Through this demonstration project, we will contribute to strengthening manufacturing competitiveness by providing industrial AI solutions that mid-sized semiconductor companies can immediately apply,” said Yoon Seong-ho, CEO of MakinaRocks. “We will support problem solving and productivity improvement in the field by building an autonomous operation environment based on an AI platform.”
