
Plainbit (CEO Jin-guk Kim), a digital forensics and breach response specialist, will host the 'Korea Digital Forensics Summit 2025 (K-DFS 2025)' at COEX Magok on November 12.
Now in its third year, K-DFS 2025 is a digital forensics conference, bringing together experts from domestic and international investigative agencies, the legal profession, academia, and industry to discuss technological advancements and institutional challenges. This event will serve as a key side event of K-Digital Forensics Week (K-DFW) 2025.
This year's summit, themed "Reliability and Standardization of Digital Evidence," will feature presentations and discussions covering technology, law, and policy. In the first session, Ricky Pan, Regional Director of DataExpert Asia, will share global trends on the topic of "Digital Forensics and Incident Response Environment in the Asia-Pacific Region." Following this, Plainbeat Director Kim Beom-jin will present "Digital Forensics Trends in Asia," and Sungkyunkwan University Professor Kim Ki-beom will present "Vision and Strategy for Digital Forensics ODA Projects," discussing the potential for technology exports.
The afternoon session will feature a special lecture by Pyo Chang-won, Director of the Crime Research Institute, and a session introducing the investigation of email forgery through actual civil litigation cases. Furthermore, practical sessions will follow, including "A Comparison of E-Discovery vs. K-Discovery Systems" by Sim Jae-hoon, an attorney at Haemyung Law Firm; "The Digital Forensics KOLAS Exam Recognition System" by Hwang Hyun-wook, Director of the National Security Research Institute; and "A Proposal for an Expert Certification System" by Kwon Yang-seop, a professor at Kunsan National University.
