Hanchem CEO Lee Sang-jo receives the Korean Chemical Society's "Chemical Management Award."

Hanchem, a company specializing in advanced material synthesis, announced on the 29th that CEO Lee Sang-jo received the 'Chemical Management Award' at the 136th Korean Chemical Society Academic Conference and General Assembly.

The Chemical Management Award is presented by the Korean Chemical Society to the CEO of a domestic materials and chemical company who has contributed to the development of the chemical industry and the development of talent.

This CEO received this prestigious award in recognition of his contributions to commercializing the first CRO/CDMO (Contract Research Organization/Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization) business in the domestic advanced materials sector, leveraging his organic chemistry R&D capabilities. He was highly praised for securing core technologies, securing global competitiveness, and creating new growth engines for the domestic chemical industry.

This CEO gained experience in organic synthesis-based research at the Korea Research Institute of Chemical Technology, Hanhyo Institute of Science and Technology, and Hanlim Pharmaceutical, and founded Hanchem in 1999. Since its founding, Hanchem has compiled a database of synthetic know-how accumulated over the past 26 years, contributing to the discovery of new materials, shortening synthesis times, and enhancing the cost competitiveness of the domestic advanced materials industry.

Hanchem, embracing "customer trust" as its management philosophy, has strived to enhance the technological independence of the domestic chemical industry by applying new organic chemistry technologies to industrial settings. In particular, Hanchem has contributed to the growth of the OLED industry through collaborations with major domestic and international raw material suppliers.

Recently, the company has been expanding its advanced materials business portfolio beyond OLED to include various industrial sectors such as semiconductors, catalysts, bio, and defense, and developed dozens of new mass-production and pilot materials in the first half of this year.

Hanchem CEO Lee Sang-jo said, “We will continue to grow into a company trusted by customers and society through continuous research and development and innovation,” and “We will also do our best to enhance the global competitiveness of the domestic chemical industry.”
