The Seoul Women's and Family Foundation signed a business agreement with the Korea Victims Support Association.

The Seoul Women and Family Foundation (CEO Park Jeong-sook) announced on October 28 that it signed a business agreement with the Korea Victims Support Association (Chairman Park Hyo-soon) to eliminate blind spots in crime victim support and strengthen violence prevention and response.

This agreement aims to strengthen the crime victim support system and enhance capacity to prevent and respond to various forms of violence, including gender-based violence. Through this agreement, the two organizations plan to address blind spots in victim support and jointly promote public awareness of violence prevention and response.

The Seoul Foundation for Women and Family opened the "Seoul Digital Sex Crime Safety Support Center" in 2022 to provide one-stop support services, including psychological and legal assistance, to victims of digital sex crimes. In 2023, the center expanded its scope to include stalking victim support by launching the "Seoul Stalking Victim Resource Center." According to the foundation, the Seoul Digital Sex Crime Safety Support Center has supported approximately 4,000 victims since its opening as of September of this year, bringing the cumulative number of cases supported to approximately 88,000.

Through this agreement, the Seoul Foundation for Women and Family will strengthen its support for victims of violence, including digital sex crimes and stalking, while the Korea Victims Support Association will provide additional psychological and social recovery support to victims affiliated with the foundation. Through this collaboration, both organizations aim to minimize blind spots in victim support and establish a practical support system.

Additionally, the two organizations plan to explore various cooperative measures, including joint campaigns, to raise public awareness of the importance of violence prevention and response, and to continue collaboration to spread a safety culture throughout society.

Park Jeong-sook, CEO of the Seoul Women and Family Foundation, said, “This agreement is an important opportunity to reduce the gap in support for victims of violence and strengthen the integrated support system centered on victims,” adding, “The foundation will play an active role so that all citizens can experience a safe and equal society.”
