Green Plus Wins Contract for Boryeong City's Youth-Customized Smart Farm Rental Project

Smart farm specialist Green Plus announced on the 30th that it had won a KRW 4.8 billion contract for the "Boryeong City Youth-Tailored Rental Smart Farm Greenhouse Installation Project" commissioned by the Boryeong Branch of the Korea Rural Community Corporation's Chungnam Regional Headquarters. This project, located in the Jukseong-ro area of Boryeong City, Chungcheongnam-do, aims to foster young farmers and make local agriculture smarter.

To address the decline in the agricultural workforce due to population decline and aging, Boryeong City is promoting a project to create a rental smart farm complex. This project aims to lower barriers to entry for young farmers and establish a sustainable agricultural ecosystem. By supporting young farmers to lease and operate state-of-the-art smart farms without the burden of initial facility investments, the city aims to mitigate startup risks and foster the shared growth of local agriculture and related industries.

For this project, Green Plus will be responsible for the design and construction of the smart farm complex, including the greenhouse installation. Drawing on its accumulated technological expertise and project management experience, the company will provide a smart farm solution that optimizes energy efficiency, automation, and crop productivity.

According to Green Plus, the cumulative order amount in the domestic smart farm sector, including this contract, has reached approximately 65 billion won, and orders are expanding, centered on public institutions, agricultural cooperatives, and the private sector.

A Green Plus official said, “The Boryeong City youth-tailored rental smart farm complex will serve as a base for reducing the burden on young people starting agricultural businesses and strengthening the competitiveness of the local agricultural industry.” He added, “Recently, inquiries related to smart farms have been increasing in both the public and private sectors, and high growth is expected to continue next year, centered around these two markets.”
