Cuckoo Labs Raises $1.8 Million in Seed Funding

Cuckoo Labs (CEO Lee Yong-hee), the developer of the enterprise AI simultaneous interpretation service "Cuckoo," announced on the 4th that it has secured $1.8 million in seed investment. This round was participated by Silicon Valley accelerator Y Combinator, Smilegate Investment, Mashup Ventures, Base Ventures, Schmidt, and BonAngels Venture Partners.

Cuckoo is a corporate AI simultaneous interpretation service for global sales, marketing, customer support, and more. It learns internal documents and terminology in real time to provide customized interpretation tailored to your business and industry. With repeated meetings, its accuracy improves, providing an experience similar to that of an in-house interpreter who speaks over 20 languages.

CEO Lee Yong-hee stated, "Our goal is to enable global companies to conduct business without language barriers. Starting with in-house AI simultaneous interpretation and content localization services, we will grow into a global enterprise language AI platform."

Eunwoo Park, a partner at investment firm Mashup Ventures, said, “The professional interpretation market is growing due to advancements in AI technology and increased global collaboration, but there is a lack of services that accurately understand the corporate context and industrial terminology.” He added, “Cuckoo has great growth potential as a team with technological expertise and business capabilities that has achieved global success from the beginning.”
