
On the 6th, Save the Children Central Regional Headquarters (Director Shim Hye-seol), an international children's rights NGO, signed a business agreement with the Daejeon Metropolitan City Foreign Residents Integrated Support Center (Director Kim Yun-hee) to guarantee the basic rights of undocumented children of immigrant backgrounds.
The signing ceremony was attended by Save the Children Central Regional Headquarters Director Sim Hye-seol and Daejeon Metropolitan City Migrant Residents Integrated Support Center Director Kim Yun-hee, along with other officials. The two organizations shared the realities of undocumented migrant children in the region and the need for support, and discussed cooperation plans.
According to the agreement, the two organizations plan to promote cooperative projects in various fields, including ▲cooperation to support the healthy growth of undocumented immigrant children, ▲activities to improve awareness of undocumented immigrant children, ▲identification of support targets and establishment of a cooperative system with relevant local organizations.
Save the Children Central Regional Headquarters Director Shim Hye-seol said, “Undocumented migrant children should also be respected and protected as children,” and added, “Through this agreement, we will strengthen support for children together with the Daejeon Metropolitan City Foreign Resident Integrated Support Center.”
Center Director Kim Yun-hee said, “There have been difficulties in supporting various children in crisis,” and added, “We hope that our collaboration with Save the Children will serve as a foundation for children in blind spots to grow up safely.”
