Won Law Firm's ESG Center Hosts Special Seminar on Responding to Changes in Public Institution Management Evaluation

On November 11, Won Law Firm (CEOs Ki-won Yoon and Yu-jeong Lee) and ESG Center (Co-Center Directors Ji-heon Oh and Tae-kyung Lee) held a special seminar on the topic of “Changes in the Public Institution Management Evaluation System and Response Measures” at the 23rd floor lecture hall of Landmark Tower in Gangnam-daero, Seoul.

The seminar was moderated by Attorney Oh Ji-heon, Director of the ESG Joint Center, and began with a welcoming address by Attorney Kang Geum-sil. In the first session, Professor Lee Jae-hyeok of the Department of Business Administration at Korea University and President of the International ESG Association presented on "Sustainability Assessment Methods and Materiality Issues," while Professor Choi Hyun-sun of the Department of Public Administration at Myongji University presented on "New Government Public Institution Governance: Policy and Evaluation Directions." Both presentations provided in-depth analyses of the evolving management evaluation system and response strategies, garnering enthusiastic responses from attendees.

Next, Attorney Kang Seo-young of the Human Resources and Labor Team at Won Law Firm presented "Response Measures from a Labor Law Perspective," while Director Lee Tae-kyung of the ESG Center presented "Response Measures from an Internal Control Perspective," sharing practical strategies. Attorney Kang emphasized the need for systematic inspections and expert collaboration, stating that industrial accidents and labor law violations are directly linked to institutional trust, the responsibility of the institution's head, and public evaluation. Director Lee explained the importance of establishing a control tower and master plan to integrate governance and internal control systems in key areas such as safety and AI.
