Defense vertical AI specialist company Funjin (CEO Deukhwa Kim) announced on the 12th that its AI electromagnetic spectrum reconnaissance system 'KWM-Ocelot' won the innovation award at the '2nd KRS Innovation Awards 2025' held.
The 'KRS Innovation Awards 2025', a side event of the 'KRS 2025 (Korea Radio Industry Show)' held from November 12th to 14th, recognizes five products released this year with outstanding technological competitiveness and innovation. At the exhibition, Funjin showcased its AI-based future battlefield technology, focusing on 'KWM-Ocelot.'
'KWM-Ocelot' is an electronic warfare response solution that combines AI-based radio signal detection and analysis technology with unmanned systems. It overcomes the limitations of existing EO/IR reconnaissance methods and can detect and identify communication and radio signals in real time, even at night, in weather conditions, and in camouflaged environments. The entire process, from RF signal collection to AI pattern analysis, location estimation, and map visualization, is performed in real time, and a Physics-Informed Neural Network (PINN) is applied to minimize location estimation errors.
Furthermore, prediction accuracy was improved by learning and compensating for the frequency attenuation characteristics of battlefield environments through AI channel model learning. This technological prowess was recognized and awarded the Innovation Technology Award.
Following its Grand Prize (Army Chief of Staff Award) at the 2025 Army Artificial Intelligence Idea Contest, KWM-Ocelot has once again proven its technological competitiveness with this award. CEO Kim Deuk-hwa stated, "KWM-Ocelot is an AI technology that enhances the electronic warfare response capabilities of unmanned systems. It can be expanded beyond national defense to various fields, such as public security and disaster response. We will use this award as momentum to accelerate the advancement of Korean AI electronic warfare technology."
