S2W , a big data analysis artificial intelligence (AI) company, announced on the 13th that it received a commendation from the Minister of Science and ICT in recognition of its contribution to the spread of ICT technology achievements at the '2026 AI-ICT Industry and Technology Outlook Conference' hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT (MSIT) held at the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Jung-gu, Seoul from the 12th.
From April 2022 to December 2024, S2W conducted a national project titled "Development of Ransomware Attack Source Identification and Analysis Technology" with support from the Institute for Information & Communications Technology Planning and Evaluation (IITP) under the Ministry of Science and ICT. Through this project, S2W developed technology that automatically identifies ransomware attack sources, infrastructure, and attackers through multidimensional analysis.
During the project, we developed an intelligence system that integrated open source intelligence (OSINT), dark web, cryptocurrency analysis, and malware similarity analysis. We achieved the goal of raising attacker identification and similarity analysis accuracy to 80-90%, comparable to DARPA and the FBI. Furthermore, we applied for and registered 17 domestic and international patents, including five US patents, and published nine academic papers, including five SCIE-level ones.
Based on this technology, S2W is contributing to strengthening international security, preventing the leakage of key national technologies, and protecting industrial intellectual property rights. It is also achieving export expansion by carrying out ICT projects with international public and government agencies in countries such as Interpol, Japan, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Indonesia, and Taiwan.
S2W CEO Seo Sang-deok said, “This award demonstrates that S2W’s differentiated data intelligence technology has contributed to enhancing the security and competitiveness of countries and industries at home and abroad.” He added, “We will continue to expand our business in the global market and accelerate our growth based on our accumulated technological capabilities.”
