Daejeon Creative Economy Innovation Center (CEO Daehee Park, hereinafter referred to as Daejeon Innovation Center) announced on the 14th that it invested 300 million won in ALT Co., Ltd. (CEO Seongmo Bae), an agricultural corporation, through the ‘Daejeon Deep Tech Specialized Investment Association No. 1’.
ALT is developing the Air-Grow system, a precision environmental control technology based on smart farms. It offers a solution that simultaneously addresses both light sources and air flow, both of which have been identified as challenges in conventional indoor cultivation. Specifically, it combines Hybrid Natural Light technology, which achieves a spectrum close to sunlight, with quantitative fluid dynamics-based air control technology, enabling year-round cultivation of fruits like strawberries.
ALT is focusing on advancing smart farm convergence technologies, including AI, robotic automation, and fluid dynamics analysis, in collaboration with Kongju National University and Isaac Engineering.
The Air-Grow testbed, currently under construction in Buyeo, South Chungcheong Province, is over 85% complete and aims to begin shipping strawberries in the summer of 2026. Using fluid dynamics simulation-based precision airflow control and astigmatism light source control technology, the testbed has been shown to achieve more than double the productivity of existing facilities and a high sugar content of over 18 Brix.
Bae Seong-mo, CEO of ALT, said, “The project that started with the question of whether strawberries should only be eaten in the winter has become a core technology for smart farms,” and added, “We will increase both farm profitability and consumer satisfaction through data-driven precision agriculture.”
Kim Seong-tae, the representative fund manager of the investment association, said, “We decided to invest in ALT because we believe it is a company that can change the future of the smart farm market by securing high-precision environmental control technology based on data.”
