Sylvia Health, a digital healthcare company specializing in cognitive health, signed a business agreement with the Korea Racing Authority and the Seoul Center for Creative Economy and Innovation for the "2025 Horse Industry Startup Discovery and Cultivation Open Innovation Program." Amazon Web Services (AWS) also participated as a technology partner in this agreement.
Seven startups will participate in the program, each working to address various challenges within the equine industry and demonstrate innovative models by incorporating cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence, biotechnology, and digital health. Silvia Health has secured the reliability of its digital cognitive health technology through designation as an innovative medical device by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety ('Silvia-Rx') and certification as a non-medical healthcare service by the Ministry of Health and Welfare ('Silvia'). Furthermore, the company is developing a cognitive function measurement kiosk and a smartphone-based dementia prevention app that are easily accessible to the elderly, and is expanding its scope of collaboration with various partners, including hospitals, clinics, local governments, and welfare organizations.
Sylvia Health will utilize AI cognitive function measurement solutions to quantitatively analyze changes in brain health in seniors participating in Silver Horseback Riding and verify the effects of horseback riding on emotional stability and cognitive health in older adults. Based on this research, the company plans to develop an integrated physical and cognitive wellness model.
Through this agreement, the three organizations will pursue ▲development of an integrated wellness program for the senior generation ▲effectiveness evaluation using AI-based cognitive function measurement tools ▲establishment of a data-based performance verification and regional expansion model.
“We hope this will become an example of open innovation where public institutions and private companies create social value based on data,” said Myungjin Koh, CEO of Sylvia Health. “We will continue to contribute to creating an environment where anyone can maintain brain health in their daily lives.”
