First Jang Company selected for the Ministry of SMEs and Startups' "Tips General Track"

First Jang Company (CEO Wonbong Jang), which provides digital transformation services for the entire funeral, burial, and memorial life cycle, announced on the 20th that it was finally selected for the general track of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups' private investment-led technology startup support program 'TIPS'.

This selection was made upon the recommendation of accelerator New Paradigm Investment, and First Jang Company received seed investment from the institution in August 2025.

First Jang Company aims to create a data-driven funeral platform that addresses the asymmetry in funeral information, focusing on digitizing the complex and non-standardized funeral cost and burial site selection process. As a TIPS partner, the company will receive up to KRW 700 million in funding over the next two years, including KRW 500 million in R&D funding and KRW 200 million in overseas marketing and startup commercialization support. Building on this funding, the company plans to advance its AI-based burial site recommendation engine, customized funeral cost prediction system, AI consultation chatbot, and automatic digital memorial content generation technology.

Currently, First Jang Company operates a service that digitally connects the entire funeral process, including funeral home and burial site recommendations, cost-effective mutual aid, smart obituary notification, and memorial content creation.

Jang Won-bong, CEO of First Jang Company, said, “This selection as TIPS is a recognition of our direction and execution ability to create a new technology-based standard in the previously closed funeral industry.” He added, “We will further develop our AI-based funeral full-cycle platform to help customers make more transparent and rational choices.”
