Dexter Studios Wins Contract to Build a Digital Exhibition Hall at the Baekje Cultural Center

Dexter Studio (hereinafter referred to as Dexter) announced on the 20th that it had won the contract for the Baekje Cultural Center digital content production and exhibition hall construction project promoted by the Gongju Culture and Tourism Foundation.

This project aims to create a residential exhibition hall that reinterprets local folktales and Baekje culture with a modern sensibility, combining the narrative and space of the content with digital media technology to provide visitors with an immersive experience.

Dexter is forming a consortium with digital heritage specialist TRIC (Triangle Research Institute of Cultural Heritage Technology) and new media technology company Fridatz to implement the project. The project will encompass the development of content based on themes and regional resources for each section, user experience design based on experiential routes, content experience space production, digital equipment installation, and barrier-free exhibition design. The total project cost is 1.97 billion won.

The consortium, with the concept of "A Princess Who Heals the Heart in Nature and Time," will present immersive visual content across eight zones, showcasing the natural landscape of Gomanaru, Baekje folktales, and cultural heritage. The exhibition hall will feature hyperrealistic content utilizing a 7-meter-tall LED wall and a 19-meter-long curved screen, providing a space for emotional relaxation where visitors can experience Baekje culture and art.

Dexter has produced numerous immersive content, including the 'Bomun Multimedia Show' that combines Gyeongju's cultural heritage with cutting-edge technology, the Korea Creative Content Agency's 'Gwanghwasidae', and the National Museum of Korea's 'Pyeongsaengdo'. Furthermore, it showcased its planning and production capabilities in the field of historical heritage by opening the immersive media art exhibition hall 'Flashback: Gyerim' at the Bomun Tourist Complex in Gyeongju.

Dexter Immersive Content Division Director Lee Hyeon-min stated, “We will focus our production capabilities on designing immersive experiences that can be enjoyed by people of all ages and genders, focusing on Baekje culture, and ensuring that the Baekje Cultural Center can become a new symbol of Gongju.”
