Freewillin Signs Business Agreement with Ajou University

Edtech startup Freewillin (CEO Kwon Ki-seong) announced on the 20th that it has signed a business agreement with Ajou University (President Choi Ki-joo) to build an AI-based adaptive learning platform (AALS, Ajou Adaptive Learning Square). Through this agreement, the university will pursue a model that integrates AI courseware into every subject within the university's learning management system (LMS).

The AALS platform reduces learning gaps among students and supports personalized learning at their own pace. Students select courses in the LMS, receive AI diagnostics to assess their level, and are automatically provided with personalized learning and supplementary content based on these assessments. Assessment results are also immediately fed back into the LMS, ensuring that lectures, learning, and assessment are seamlessly integrated.

Ajou University plans to integrate Freewillin's university-specific AI courseware, "PulleyCampus," into its LMS (Blackboard) starting in the first semester of 2026. Students will have access to a wide range of learning content and AI diagnostic assessments across subjects like math, science, Korean, economics, accounting, English, and IT, all with a single login. Professors will also be able to design their own learning courses for each subject, with the system's features gradually being enhanced.

This agreement marks the first integration of AI diagnostic, supplemental, and personalized capabilities into the core structure of an LMS. It is considered a turning point, expanding AI use beyond a supplementary tool for select subjects to a fundamental infrastructure for university instruction. Based on this collaboration, Freewillin plans to enhance its standardized integration model and expand it to a wider range of majors, establishing an AI learning ecosystem applicable across the entire university.

Kwon Ki-seong, CEO of Freewillin, said, “It is meaningful to be able to build a model with Ajou University that integrates an AI adaptive learning system for all subjects within a university LMS for the first time in Korea,” and “We will create a new model of higher education that supports the growth of each student across majors, liberal arts, and basic competencies.”
