The Jeju Center for Creative Economy and Innovation announced that two Jeju local creator companies won awards at the "2025 Global Festa" pitching competition held in Daejeon from the 13th to the 15th. The grand prize went to the carbonated water brand "Tansan Oreum," and the honorable mention went to the traditional salted seafood brand "Jeju Oreum Jeotgal."
This pitching competition, hosted by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and organized by the Small and Medium Business Market Promotion Agency, took place in the Eunhaeng, Daeheung, and Seonhwa districts of Daejeon. The event provided a platform for local creators to showcase and sell their products, network with investment partners, and share their achievements. The pitching zone featured an open pitching competition, featuring local entrepreneurs and graduates of the New Business Startup Academy and the Artisan Academy.
Selected as an Excellence Award winner, Tansan Oreum is a premium sparkling water brand that applies proprietary technology to Jeju lava seawater mineral water, creating a powerfully refreshing and clean flavor. Just one year after its launch, it became an official APEC sponsor and recently launched "Hallatan," a sparkling water in collaboration with Hallasan Soju, earning recognition for its modern interpretation of Jeju's values.
Jeju Oreum Jeotgal, which won the Encouragement Award, is a successor to the "Oreum Mulsan" brand, which was launched in 1991. Its jeotgal is made using Jeju ingredients and traditional methods. Its aging method, utilizing basalt stones and natural caves, has garnered attention. Its attempts to expand traditional food culture to modern consumers, such as its "natural seasoning" powder, are also receiving rave reviews.
The Jeju Creative Economy Innovation Center said that this award reaffirms the creativity and marketability of Jeju's local brands, and emphasized the growth potential of local startups.
