Wepick Webinar Banner_The Next Step for K-Brands: From Global to Glocal

Marketing platform company WPL Corporation (CEO Tae-hwan Kim) announced that it will host an online webinar, "WPL Webinar Vol. 6," on December 15th. This webinar, titled "K-Brands' Next Step: From Global to Glocal," is Korea's first practical glocal strategy webinar that proposes a new market entry model for K-brands, moving beyond traditional overseas expansion methods and tailored to the era of the New Local market, which will begin in earnest in 2026.

'Glocal' is a concept of 'global' and 'local', and the organizers said that this webinar will provide a new perspective to Korean brands in that it deals with a market-building method that co-creates brands with local communities rather than simply 'localization'.

Starting in 2026, major U.S. cities, including New York, are expected to experience ▲ expanded economic influence of immigrant communities ▲ expansion of locally-based startup and employment programs ▲ hyper-localization of markets based on culture and identity.
These changes imply that the existing global expansion model, centered on exhibition, promotion, and distribution, has reached its limits. Brands must now coexist with local organizations, communities, and consumers, becoming entities capable of "jointly creating markets."

This webinar will unveil for the first time the practical market entry strategies of an expert who has directly connected New York locals and global players for over a decade. The speaker, Paul Joseph Kang (CEO of bcdW), is a hands-on expert who has implemented various market entry projects and proof-of-concepts (POCs) in New York over the past decade, directly connecting local communities, global companies and institutions, global mobile talent, and community-based organizations (such as local chambers of commerce, universities, and non-profits).

CEO Kang will begin by asking the question, "Why do New York's new mayors, politicians, and leaders repeatedly emphasize that New York is a 'city of immigrants'?" and will present how Korean brands can make a real case for themselves by targeting the U.S. market in the future.

Unlike traditional theory-focused overseas expansion lectures, this webinar focuses on CEO Kang's experience with New York-based projects he personally led between 2015 and 2025.
In particular, we will share our experience with the 'early glocal market entry model (POC)' that actually connected Korean creators and brands with the local New York community at the special showcase and lounge program held in New York last October.

This POC is noteworthy in that it contains real-world examples of market entry methods that have rarely been covered in Korea, such as ▲ collaboration methods with local organizations ▲ community-based brand message redesign ▲ New York-style content production patterns ▲ brand-community joint planning process.

This 90-minute webinar will cover: ▲ Outlook for the New Local Era in 2026 ▲ Market Entry Strategies Based on New York Local Communities ▲ Insights from the October New York Showcase/Lounge Project ▲ Successful Structure of Glocal Co-Creation ▲ Real-time Q&A.
All participants will be provided with a copy of the 'bcdW Global Resource Book' (PDF) and a link to the webinar recording.
Participation is available at Eventus ( https://event-us.kr/wpl/event/116849 ) and participation is free.

“This webinar is Korea’s first attempt to introduce the most practical strategies for K-brands to go beyond simple entry into the New York market and create actual, working entry cases,” explained Wepick Corporation.
