Triz Company, an accelerator specializing in local brand growth, and Sopung Connect, an accelerator specializing in early-stage investments, announced the launch of 'Triz-Connect Investment Fund No. 1', a fund with a joint general partnership (Co-GP) structure.
The two organizations, previously operating independently, will combine their expertise through this fund to discover local and ESG-focused startups and establish an integrated acceleration process that supports scale-up and growth management. Beyond simple financial returns, both companies aim to be "participatory funds" that directly participate in the post-investment growth process, fostering a sustainable, regionally focused startup ecosystem.
Treez Company is a startup planner that leverages its ESG consulting capabilities and local brand development experience to practically help brands grow through content creation, branding, marketing, online and offline distribution channel expansion, business space, and educational support.
Sopung Connect, a subsidiary of Sopung Ventures focused on impact investing and early-stage startup development, officially launched in January 2025. CEO Choi Kyung-hee and other professionals from Sopung Ventures' AC division joined the company to drive early-stage investments, value-up programs, and open innovation initiatives. This year, the company is working on open innovation programs with companies such as the North Jeolla Province, Samsung C&T, CJ CheilJedang, and Nonghyup.
This collaboration is considered a case study that combines an execution-oriented AC focused on marketing and market development with a nurturing AC focused on early-stage investment. The two organizations plan to establish a content and capital circulation model that encompasses startups, branding, and scale-up, offering a practical support model that supports local creators and ESG-focused startups from market entry to expansion.
Kim Ji-hyun, CEO of Treez Company, said, "Building on our experience supporting the growth of local brands and small businesses, this collaboration will foster the development of globally competitive local brands." Choi Kyung-hee, CEO of Sopung Connect, stated, "This new investment experiment, combining content and capital, will create a sustainable model that supports the tangible growth of entrepreneurs."
