Slowwave, a brainwave analysis specialist, launches the "Slowwave 1.0," an ultra-compact wireless brainwave measuring device.

Measurement without sleep disturbance with the world’s smallest wireless brainwave sensor weighing only 6g

Slowwave Co., Ltd. (CEO Ryu Kyung-ho), a company specializing in brainwave analysis, announced the official launch of ‘Slowwave 1.0,’ an ultra-small wireless brainwave measuring device that safely measures brainwaves without disturbing sleep.

Slowwave 1.0 is an ultra-small testing device that measures the main bio-signal data of the sleeping subject, such as brain waves (EEG), pulse (PPG), and pulse, using the world's smallest wireless brainwave sensor developed in-house, and provides sleep information by analyzing sleep stages, quality, and arousal patterns based on this data.

Until now, EEG measuring devices have been bulky and have wired sensors, which can be uncomfortable to wear, disrupting the examinee's sleep, and have had drawbacks such as distortion of measurement data and decreased analysis accuracy.

Slowwave 1.0's brainwave sensor is lightweight, weighing only about 6g, so it can be attached to the subject's forehead while they sleep without any burden. In addition, it is designed to be wireless, so it is not affected by tossing and turning or moving during sleep.

Upon its launch, Slowwave 1.0 officially proved its safety and performance by obtaining Class 2 medical device certification from the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS). It is also being supplied to national research institutes conducting sleep disorder research and is currently generating sales.

Slowwave CEO Ryu Kyung-ho said, “With the growing interest in mental health as well as physical health, we hope that Slowwave 1.0 will open up new possibilities as a device that can be actively utilized to improve mental health.” He added, “We will conduct brainwave-based research on delirium, ADHD, and cognitive function in cooperation with medical and research institutions, and continue to develop digital therapeutic devices.”

Meanwhile, Slowwave was selected for the fast track of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups' Deep Tech Tips (TIPS) together with seed investment firm SparkLabs in 2023, and pitched on stage at the 'SparkLabs Demo Day 2025' held privately this year.
