Content platform company Ridibooks Inc. (CEO Bae Ki-sik, hereinafter referred to as Ridibooks) announced on the 1st that it will hold the '2025 Ridibooks Awards' to select the most talked-about works of the year.
Launched in 2016, the "Ridi Awards" are an awards ceremony where readers vote to determine the most beloved works of the year across the web novel, webtoon, and comic genres. Now in its 10th year, the "2025 Ridi Awards" has grown alongside readers over the past decade, establishing itself as Ridi's signature year-end event and a key awards platform for the domestic content industry.
The growth over the past decade has been particularly remarkable. Compared to the inaugural event, the number of award categories has increased by approximately 220%, the number of nominated works by approximately 260%, and the number of votes by a staggering 17,000%, demonstrating explosive reader participation. This is the result of Ridi's expansion of services, the steady popularity of works across diverse genres, and the establishment of a culture where readers can directly support their favorite works. To date, the cumulative number of votes has surpassed 10 million.
Voting for the "2025 Ridi Awards" will continue until the 14th of next month, with the winners announced on December 29th. The winners will be determined by reader vote, with each voter able to select two works from each category once per day. All voters will receive 100 points, and a total of 2.5 million points will be awarded through a raffle.
A Ridi official said, "The Ridi Awards, which first took place in 2016, has now celebrated its 10th anniversary. This is thanks to our readers who have shown unwavering love over the past decade. We hope this will be a meaningful time to meet the works that shined this year, cheer on your favorite works, and select the best works of the year together."
