DoveRunner, a content security solutions specialist, announced that it has been selected for the Scale-Up TIPS R&D Global Project, hosted by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups. This technology development program, designed to support the global market entry and growth of innovative SMEs, aims to identify and intensively foster technologies with high potential for global expansion.
Through this project, DoveRunner plans to develop a preemptive attack response technology for mobile applications using generative AI. With mobile security threats becoming increasingly sophisticated, this technology is considered highly sought-after in the global market. With this selection, DoveRunner plans to secure a total of 2 billion won in R&D support to advance its AI-based security technology.
DoveRunner also received positive reviews for its technological competitiveness, target market analysis, and competitive advantage-based commercialization strategy. The company recognized the potential for domestic and international demand for its developed technology, and its foundation for global expansion, including overseas bases, partnership networks, and intellectual property (IP) competitiveness, was comprehensively reviewed.
This selection was primarily driven by the upfront investment from the operating company, Innopolis Partners, and DoveRunner's validation of its global capabilities. Scale-Up TIPS is a public-private matching program where the government supports follow-up R&D in companies recommended by the operating company (VC). Innopolis Partners highly evaluated DoveRunner's overseas SaaS performance and global business capabilities, leading to an investment of approximately KRW 2 billion and a recommendation.
An Innopolis Partners representative stated, “DoveRunner has proven its competitiveness as a startup in the national strategic technology field of cybersecurity through SaaS-based sales in Southeast Asia, the EU, and North America,” adding, “This R&D project will accelerate the acquisition of global Tier 1 customers.”
DoveRunner's Director Nam Jae-min said he views this global TIPS selection as a significant turning point in advancing AI-based security technology and expanding global business.
