The Ministry of SMEs and Startups has launched a one-stop startup support center, offering one-stop, non-stop startup support.

The "Startup One-Stop Support Center," which consolidates startup procedures into a single, nationwide location, is now fully operational. The Ministry of SMEs and Startups (MSS) held a launch event on the 6th floor of the Pangyo Business Support Hub in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, on the 1st. The event included the signing of a business agreement with private organizations and revealed the center's operational roadmap. Approximately 100 people attended the event, which ran from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM.

The essence of the one-stop/non-stop system

The newly launched "Startup One-Stop Support Center" aims to reduce the time entrepreneurs spend searching for scattered support information and provide a seamless, single-source experience from consultation to support referral. Based on a business agreement between the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and private sector organizations, the center aims to connect public and private support resources and provide a roadmap to outline step-by-step progress directions in advance, increasing predictability. The roadmap, presented at the launch, assumes nationwide operation, with detailed services and operational procedures expected to be refined in stages.

The meaning and challenges of an ecosystem perspective

For startups in their early stages, the costs of information search and administrative processing are a significant burden. A single point of contact and continuous support system could improve the speed of initial commercialization, program accessibility, and potentially contribute to reducing regional information gaps. In particular, a collaborative structure with private organizations and associations could enable demand-driven support design, potentially enhancing ease of use and connectivity compared to individual public-led projects. However, for a one-stop, non-stop system to be effective, it is crucial to clearly define operational standards and responsibilities, encompassing on-site consultation, coordination, and aftercare. The release of this roadmap is significant in that it sets the benchmark for this process.

This launch is a policy initiative aimed at integrating the fragmented structure of startup support, with the goal of nationwide expansion. Detailed functions and service scope will likely be implemented sequentially according to a roadmap. Future success will hinge on whether public-private partnerships reflect on-the-ground needs and ensure systematic operation.
